Midcentury Home – Defined & Functional Spaces
For this midcentury home, 1879 Design Co. was tasked with bringing order and style to a large, undefined living area. By introducing a thoughtful mix of modern and traditional elements, we transformed the space into a functional, inviting part of the home.
Key features include:
Custom Divider Wall: A clean shiplap divider was installed to visually define the space while maintaining an open feel. The wall includes French doors for light and flow, and a custom pet door to ensure the whole family feels at home.
Modern Sliding Door: A contemporary barn-style slider with frosted panels adds privacy and modern style without sacrificing natural light.
Built-In Storage: IKEA bookcases were integrated along the wall to create a sleek and practical storage solution, balancing the space with clean lines.
Finishing Touches: Fresh paint, updated trim, and cohesive design elements tie the remodel together, creating a look that feels both midcentury-rooted and modernized for today’s lifestyle.
This project demonstrates our ability to reimagine existing spaces with a focus on practicality, style, and detail—bringing new life and function to an iconic home style.
