The types of projects we do vary in scope, risk, and cash flow. Our payment structure aims to balance client trust with working capital needs and risk.
Payment Structure by Project Type
🪑 Custom Furniture & Small Wood Projects (signs, wall art, tables, cabinets)
50% deposit at start (materials + design + time commitment).
50% balance due at delivery.
(Simpler projects don’t need multiple phases. Keeps it easy for homeowners.)
🏡 Remodeling & Renovation Projects
10–20% retainer at signing (to reserve time and cover planning/design).
40% at project start (covers labor mobilization + initial materials).
30% at midpoint (usually after rough carpentry or key milestone).
10–20% at completion (final finishes, walkthrough, punch list).
(Keeps payments tied to progress while giving you working capital to move forward.)
🏠 Full Home Construction
Fixed design fee (before construction begins, covers drawings/plans).
10%–15% deposit at contract signing (secures spot, long-lead items).
Monthly progress payments or milestone draws tied to project stages:
Foundation & framing
Roofing & exterior
Rough-in (electrical/plumbing/HVAC)
Interior finishes
Final 5–10% holdback due upon substantial completion.
(Industry-standard approach; protects both you and the client on large-scale projects.)
