Monument-Style Driveway Marker & Address Sign
This custom monument-style address sign was designed and built to feel as though it has always belonged on the land. Centered around a weathered piece of salvaged metal found on the Centennial Ranch property in rural Westcliffe, Colorado, the sign reflects the rugged history and understated character of the cabin and surrounding high-desert landscape. Features include:
Salvaged corrugated metal panel reclaimed from the property and preserved as the focal point of the design
Solid redwood frame, selected for durability and natural resistance to sun, snow, and moisture
Traditional shiplap joinery and dowel pins, emphasizing strength, longevity, and hand-crafted construction
Custom-cut black steel address numbers, offset-mounted to create depth, shadow, and legibility from a distance
Three coats of Spar Urethane finish, providing long-term protection against intense UV exposure and harsh winter conditions
Concrete-pinned installation, engineered to withstand the region’s high winds and extreme weather
Design scaled and proportioned to complement the nearby cabin and the wide-open ranch landscape
The result is a functional landmark that doubles as a piece of site-specific craftsmanship—rooted in place, built to last, and thoughtfully integrated into both the architecture and the land itself.
